Screensaver design motto says ‘if you can dream it, there is a program to help you create it.’ This really would’ve been a farfetched idea not too long ago when all screensavers had the same title, “The Black Hole.” As in other realms of technology, screensaver design has progressed in abundance over the past decade or so. For many years, creating screensavers was left up to the professionals, but now, with new screensaver design programs, one can create his or her own custom screensaver in just minutes.
The terms wallpaper, desktop picture and desktop background refer to an image used as a background on a computer screen, usually for the desktop of a graphical user interface.
A desktop theme is a customized graphical user interface (GUI) that replaces a computer’s ordinary sounds, icons, pointer, wallpaper or screensaver with something designed to reflect the interests of the user. Depending on each individual’s tastes and desires, the desktop themes vary. The types of desktop themes that are popular among the users are fishing, a picture of a lake, icons that resemble different kinds of fishing lures, sounds that are related to boats, water and fishing reels, a screen saver from a favourite TV show , babies , animals and any nature related scenes. Desktop themes are popular for home use mainly because having desktop themes in an official environment with many computers networked, inadvertently introduces virus by downloading a theme from an unknown source.
